What is PueblaYork?

PueblaYork is a community-driven project that we are passionate about, dedicated to empowering local artists and small businesses. Our mission is to provide the tools, resources, and knowledge necessary to help our community thrive in the digital and physical marketplace.

At the heart of this initiative is "Tu Casita Project," our dedicated community hub in Jackson Heights. This space will serve as a vital resource, offering:

• 24/7 lobby access with security, bathrooms, printer, scanner, and fax services
• A community events board to keep everyone connected
• A large meeting space for up to 40 people
• A smaller meeting room for up to 10 people
• Two private one-desk rooms for virtual meetings and interviews
• Sliding-scale membership & hourly rentals to ensure accessibility for all
• A weekend marketplace for local vendors to showcase and sell their products

Beyond the physical space, we are committed to education and economic empowerment. We offer workshops designed to teach local artists and small business owners how to market their products, build and manage e-commerce sites, and navigate online sales. To further support these businesses, we are establishing a fully equipped shipping station with tape, boxes, label printers, and other essential materials. We are also negotiating with shipping companies to secure affordable rates for our community.

In addition, we are building a comprehensive online directory for Puebla-based businesses, fostering a network where we can support each other by purchasing local goods and services. With over 40 years of e-commerce experience combined, we are well-equipped to bring this vision to life.

We are also excited to announce that we have expanded our team to include two talented full-stack developers, Nikki and Dorian. With their expertise, we are developing innovative tech solutions to enhance our community’s digital presence and accessibility.

Looking ahead, if we secure the space, we plan to expand PueblaYork to include cultural initiatives such as Nahuatl language classes and live broadcasts of significant cultural events, like the Atlixcáyotl festival.
